What a Big Game Transporter Can and Cannot Do

As a licensed Big Game Transporter in Alaska, we provide transportation only. We do not provide:

  • Guiding services

  • Field assistance

  • Glassing or scouting

  • Skinning, caping, or meat care

  • Packing services

  • Camping gear, fuel, vehicles, or hunting equipment

We cannot accompany or remain in the field with hunters except as necessary for transportation. Hunters are responsible for:

  • Understanding and complying with all Alaska hunting regulations

  • Knowing species-specific requirements

  • Proper meat care and salvage

  • Legal transfer of harvested meat to a third party after the hunt

We are required to report any known or suspected hunting violations.

Weather & Field Preparedness

Safety is our highest priority. Alaska weather is unpredictable and can delay flights into or out of hunting areas. Hunters must be prepared to remain in the field longer than planned due to weather conditions. We cannot assume responsibility for weather-related delays beyond our control.

Reservations & Payment

Unless prior arrangements are made, full payment is due at the time of reservation. Early booking is recommended to secure your preferred dates and hunting unit access.

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

We understand plans can change. If you need to reschedule or cancel, please contact us as soon as possible. If rescheduling is not possible, the following cancellation policy applies:

  • 90 days or more prior to trip: 100% refund

  • 30 days or more prior to trip: 50% refund

  • Less than 30 days prior to trip: No refund

We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect against unforeseen events. If Sheldon Air Service cancels a trip due to weather, aircraft availability, or other operational reasons, our liability is limited to a 100% refund of funds paid.

Disclosure & Responsibility

Sheldon Air Service is not responsible or liable for loss, damage, injury, cancellations, expenses, or delays resulting from conditions beyond our control. This includes, but is not limited to, outdoor activities such as hunting, boating, climbing, camping, trekking, or hiking.
