Talkeetna Airport parking regulations

  • Transient Aircraft Parking:
    • No charge for the first 24 hours of parking in the transient aircraft parking area.
    • For each period of up to 24 hours after the first 24 hours:
      • Light aircraft: $5.00. (Note: Another source mentions a fee of $4.00, but the $5.00 appears to be the more recent regulation, revised July 1, 2017).
      • Heavy aircraft: The greater of $10.00 or $1.00 per 1,000 pounds, rounded to the nearest 1,000 pounds, CMGW (Certified Maximum Gross Weight). (Note: Another source mentions a fee of $7.50 or $0.75 per 1,000 pounds, but the other appears to be the more recent regulation, revised July 1, 2017).
  • These fees do not apply to aircraft parking on leased premises or under a tiedown permit. 

Other important parking notes

  • Helicopter Traffic: Remain clear of commercial and General Aviation (GA) parking areas at all times.
  • Operate to and from helicopter ramps avoiding over-flight of ramps to prevent damage to parked aircraft.
  • Walking on active taxiways/aprons is not authorized.
  • There is a new helicopter operations area on the north ramp.
  • The airport also has tie-down facilities available for rent, and inquiries should be directed to the airport manager
